PRESIDENT'S APRIL / MAY MESSAGE |
We missed March altogether, but it
wasn't much of a miss. Nothing of great importance happened in March
except starting to plan for spring. We were unable to secure a substantial grant and are continuing to keep plugging away until we are successful. Plans for this navigation season include replacing a fence around the entire parameter of the island on the rear light. This is to be accomplished by Jeremy Brady and his Boy Scout Troop who has chosen this project to earn his Eagle Scout badge. His mother Kathy is our secretary and is always looking for ways to help the project. My thanks to both of you. Dave Bollinger and his son Alex continue their hard work keeping the rear light island free of weeds and Dave has been appointed leader of this group. They also keep the glass clean in the lantern room. Dave and Alex deserve a pat on the back for this tough job. Our spring meeting at Jack's in St. Clair Shores put on by Vice President Rob Shoenmann was well attended and all officers remain the same. Watch our web site for additional information.
